The new Salomon S-Lab Shift MNC will be the talk of the ski industry this season. The first binding of its kind that offers you a powerful downhill performance with an incredibly lightweight feeling and the ability to skin when you have your pin tech soles on your boots. When you want to skin, flip the lever on the toe piece into skin mode and the pins engage into your boots for a trusted connection that makes moving up hill simple and easy. 47mm of Lateral Elastic Travel offers you a high powered binding that weighs less than 4lbs. The Hike and Ride Switch twists the heel into skinning mode with 2 and 10 degree climbing aids. Salomon's Low Profile Chassis has a low stand height that delivers more control and responsiveness out of your skis. The Oversized Platform has a wide mounting platform that is able to control even the fattest skis in your quiver. Skis like an alpine binding tours like a tech binding

Pros: light weight, ski like an alpine binding tour like a tech binding
Cons: Transition between ski and hike can take a second to figure out

Really excited to add these to my quiver - and so far so good. My first tech-toe binding. Much lighter than any of the frame touring bindings I have used in the past, while skis just as well as any alpine binding on the downs - truly a break through! Worth the extra money if you're doing 50% or less touring with the rest of the time in the resort!

This binding skis like a normal alpine binding but feels like nothing is there when hiking

This binding is a revolution in itself. It's performance downhill and uphill is awesome. I was impressed with the lightweight feel and surprised by its responsiveness. Making the switch from uphill touring mode to downhill mode and vice versus is very easy even in the most challenging weather and terrain.

First no compromise all mountain/ touring binding, to take you all over the mountain. This is to be used in conjunction with a pin compatible touring boot like the atomic hawx ultra XTD etc.
