The Volkl RTM 81 remains a top-seller for the strong intermediate to expert skier looking for edge hold and grip on the groomers. Rocker in the tip and tail with camber underfoot drives you into and out of turns quickly and accurately with little effort. Volkl's new 3D Glass Technology uses vertically laminated glass behind the sidewalls and horizontal wrapped glass above the sidewalls to add more stability, rebound and control when you are ripping at fast speeds. 3D Ridge Construction pulls heavier material away from the edges of the ski to lower the amount of inertia that is takes to roll the skis into any turn shape you want. A layer of steel sits below the topsheet to add extra grip and stability. If you are looking for a smooth and stable ride, that feels very quick into carves, the Volkl RTM 81 makes a great ski for you.

Very quick and terrific Edge grip. Stable at speed and pretty good off piste. Great choice for hard pack man made snow here on the East Coast.

In the RTM series of skis, Volkl aims to create carving capable, maneuverable, and stable skis; they accomplish just that in the RTM 81. This frontside, all-mountain ski boasts unwavering edge hold on the most firm of conditions coupled with the ability to pivot on a dime. The supple feel underfoot is ever present regardless of conditions and promises performance well beyond the ski's intermediate classification.

Great ski for the whole mountain in almost all snow conditions. Works best on groomed maintained runs with no speed limit. Great east coast ski for the occasional powder day or a day of mixed conditions.
