Burton 1987 Elite Snowboard - Icon Series

Head back to the future with the board that kicked snowboard progression into high gear.

From counterculture to revolution. The '80s saw snowboarding rise from being a fringe activity to become a legitimate sport. Few boards welcomed more riders to the fold than the 1987 Burton Elite Snowboard. This retro edition board celebrates the design that made standing sideways accessible to everyone. It combines modern materials with throwback graphics and the original shape including its trademark swallow tail.

  • CORE: FSC™ Certified Super Fly® 800G Core with Dualzone™ EGD™ Triax™ Infinite Ride™
  • BASE: Sintered WFO Super Sap® Epoxy The Channel®
  • Wide. Stable. Responsive.: The Elite's wide waist gives it a stable ride that makes for a quick learning curve and a floaty ride in soft snow.
  • Throwback Style: Inspired by the original Burton Elite, the board stays true to the original graphics and shape for an authentic ride.

Binding Mount Pattern
Channel

Channel
The Channel replaced Burton’s 3D mounting pattern in 2014. The Channel consists of 2 slots running parallel to the edges of the board (1 for each binding), allowing nearly infinite binding mounting options using just 2 screws per binding. The Channel works best with Burton’s EST Bindings, but with the correct mounting discs, other bindings can be used. The Channel allows adjustment of stance width, angle, centering, and setback to nearly any position without the constraints of a 4-screw pattern.
