Pros:
Fun weekend DIY project that you'll always find a reason to throw in the gearbag when the snow flies

Not permissible at most lift access snow resorts: Use for backcountry & local hills

Back in 1977 Jake Burton Carpenter founded the company out of inspiration from riding the original Snurfer's brought to the world by Sherman Poppen in 1965. In a little work space in Central Vermont he and a few friends handcrafted each and every one of the original boards with a simple layout of traction pad, rope, and handle on a board that "surfed" its way down any slope that they could find to hike.
