Backcountry Exploring off trail and held to unlimited boundaries. Really likes to carve their way down the mountain.
Twin This particular shape allows the rider to ride switch or regular. The nose and tail of the board have the same shape.
Rocker Softer than most boards which allows the rider to be little more playful in the terrain park.
Soft Allows the ride to have the most flex in their equipment with soft easy flex from toe to heel.
Burton 3D Exclusive to Burton snowboards (pre-2014), the 3D hole pattern was discontinued, but you might still find it if you purchase a second-hand snowboard. The 3D pattern features eight holes for each binding arranged in overlapping triangles. Three bolts are used to secure each binding with flexible positioning forwards or backwards compared to the manufacturer’s suggested reference stance position. Burton still uses the 3D mounting pattern on some kid's boards as well as some of their rental fleets.
Beginner / Intermediate A beginner to intermediate skier or rider is one who can confidently handle easy slopes, link turns, and control speed, but is still developing skills on steeper or varied terrain. Stays of trails marked as beginner as well as some intermediate trails.
