Pros: Race boot feel that’s easier to get into. Race-like heel hold. Shock absorbing boot board can swap with race board for more precision.
Cons: If you are expecting a very narrow boot, you will be surprised how much room is in the forefoot.

It’s butter, but is butter better? The short answer is YES. Welcome back to the world of REAL BOOTS. From the moment you pick this boot up you realize it’s not for the weight conscious skier. This is a real deal expert boot that provides a damp, powerful feel but still maintains a good amount of manageable comfort. It’s wider to me than the claimed 96mm at 26.5, and maybe that’s the point. Your heel is absolutely locked in but I found more room in the forefoot / toe box than the Salomon Supra BOA which is a 100mm at 26.5. The cuff works out of the box for my athletic calves in the 28.5, where the low volume Salomon Alpha doesn’t stand a chance even with mega cuff work. I’m very excited Atomic brought this boot out. It’s firm yet fair and will elevate any expert skier. If you love the look but are worried about the 130 flex, the boot is tunable thanks to pre-marked cut lines in the clog. That’s best left to a pro boot fitter. Liner is very firm.
