A smooth an confident frontside carving tool with some versatility!
Posted by Diamond Dave (Certified Winter Enthusiast) on 8/6/2025

Pros: Smooth, stable, energetic, slightly damp, feels planted, good effective edge and grip. Not overly demanding.
Cons: Likes to be driven, but can be over-driven by bigger or more aggressive expert skiers. Not ultra-versatile.

The Stance Pro 86 is going to slot among a group of great, frontside skis. I think most shoppers would cross-compare this with a Steadfast 85, Anomaly 84 and the Elan Wingman 86 and other skis in this group. It's focus is front side carving, which I thought it did very well, but isn't as demanding as something like the Anomaly 84. It has very nice transitions into and out of the turn, and really makes East Coast skiing fun. I think the Ti is only in the center of the ski, so it does feel smooth but still has some good energy to it. I felt it was most at home linking medium radius turns but can dance down the fall-line no problem. It's a great feeling ski, certainly a step or 2 beyond the Stance 84 in top end performance. It looks great as well! I think if you are looking at a Ripstick 88 but really spend most of your time on the trails and want to learn how to drive the front of a ski, this should be in your conversation!
