Don't Sleep on the OPTIC 96!! Posted by Diamond Dave (Certified Winter Enthusiast) on 8/5/2025
Pros: Hyper versatile turn shapes. Higher than you think speed limit. Above average edge hold for the width. Cons: If you are anti-social, you will be put off by everyone asking you about them on the lift.

A Suprisingly Versatile Ski that can charge, carve or slarve! I picked up this ski on the recommendation of a Buckman's employee as an alternative to the Rustler 9. He mentioned it would surprise me by its ability to make varied turn shapes, float when its soft and charge on the groomers. It was a leap of faith... but it absolutely paid off! I was looking for a ski to replace my Line Supernatural 100's that had more versatility but retained the stability of titanal with the maple block wood core. The shape of these is much more free-ride with noticeable rocker in the tips and tip splay and the same with the tails. I noted a good amount of camber by modern standards which, to me, meant I'd get a lot out of the skis on the steeps. This all added up to exceed my expectations! What I love about this ski is just what I was looking for - Versaility! It blends the heart of a big mountain charger with a shinanigan-factor that inspires side hits and airing it out. Very solid and FUN!!
