Pros:
Firm underfoot, excellent edge hold, fantastic energy, very stable, wide-body means variety
Cons:
No binding choice (I'm stretching to find any cons), colors aren't for everyone.
Would you recommend this product to a friend?
Yes
Atomic is one of the most successful RACE brands in the history of skiing and that legacy is incorporated into this ski and refined to allow access to a wide variety of skiers. Cross-compare this to the Peregine Series from Volkl, the Redster 7.8 has a mid-80's waist for extra versatility similar to the Peregrine 83, but backs off in construction to allow a more friendly tip and tail... but I have to say, FOR ANY MONEY, this ski absolutely RIPS. Again, I saw the price point and colors and didn't expect much but I was I surprised. I loved this ski! I love the rebound energy, I loved how SOLID it feels underfoot and the edge grip was superb. It really had me wondering "who would really need more?!" If you are an ex-racer like me, sure, you could find the limits of this ski but it will be after you have a pack of ski-parents calling ski patrol on you. This is a carving ski with a touch of early rise in the tip to give you control in varying snow conditions! 5-STARS!
