BUCKMANS.COM IS GOING GREEN
In the Fall of 2011, Buckmans added solar panels to five of our six ski and snowboard shops in eastern, Pennsylvania!
This was the second phase of our green initiative, adding to the solar array already installed at our corporate offices and our warehouse.
With over 3,800 high efficiency panels collecting clean, renewable solar energy, many of our locations are now completely energy-neutral.
Since our first panels came online in 2010, we have offset over 4,300 pounds of carbon dioxide and other green house gases.
This is the equivalent of planting over 666,000 trees or saving enough gasoline to make over 3500 round-trips from LA to Philly!
The renewable energy project was made possible in part by a grant from the State of Pennsylvania as well as the Federal Government.
The next time you visit our corporate headquarters, be sure to stop by the main office to view a video screen which displays real-time statistics on the energy produced and the resulting reduction of environmental pollutants.
We are proud to have the largest roof-mounted array in Pennsylvania and are leading the way to help save winter!
