The Buckman family has been avid skiers for over 50 years. Faith, Family and Fun are at the heart of everything they do.
Even though they are enjoying ‘semi-retirement’, Jeff and Nancy Buckman still enjoy being “Buckman Ambassadors” whether they are on the slopes with their kids and seven grandkids, or in the shops flying the flag of customer service and new employee training. To them, there is nothing better than a day spent skiing with family and loved ones!
In the Fall of 2017 they passed the day to day operations of the ski shops off to their son Brad Buckman. He has worked at the shops since his youth and has been skiing since he was old enough to walk. Today, Brad's role is continuing to build the family atmosphere that all of us enjoy as well as to continue the family passion of having fun outdoors.

A Brief History of Buckman's
Buckman's Ski Shops began in 1971 with our first ski shop opening in Perkiomenville, PA. Known for great customer service and quality products, we quickly became one of the area's leading ski shops.
Buckman's has over 50 years of experience with more than 425 full and part time employees in our seven retail stores across suburban Philadelphia, carrying the largest inventory of ski/snowboard merchandise and rental equipment in the state of PA. Our state-of-the-art workshop is the finest on the east coast, covering 4000 sq. ft with over $500,000 worth of tuning equipment.
We are proud to be known as one of the first ski shops in the nation to begin carrying snowboarding gear and apparel. Today, Buckman's Boardroom is Pennsylvania's premiere retail outlet for snowboarding equipment.

Buckman's Timeline
1971 - Buckman's Ski Shops opens its first ski shop in Perkiomenville, PA with only 110 sq. ft. of workshop space.
1983 - Buckman's workshop adds its first stone grinder.
1987 - Buckman's Skis Shops embraces what was thought to be the 'passing fad' of snowboarding.
1988 - The King of Prussia store opens.
1990 - The Doylestown store opens.
1991 - The Byrn Mawr store opens.
1993 - The Lansdale store opens.
1994 - New KOP location opens.
1995 - The West Lawn store opens. All our shops carry the first generation of shaped skis.
1997 - The original store closes, leaving our corporate offices in Perkiomenville.
1998 - The Lansdale store moves to its current location in Montgomeryville. We also start selling our products online!
2003 - Buckman's Inc. moves its corporate offices and workshop to its present location in Pottstown, PA.
2004 - Buckman's Ski Shop wins a Gold Medal Award from Ski Magazine.
2005 - The Bryn Mawr location moves to a newly renovated store in Ardmore. We also win a Gold Medal Award from Ski Magazine.
2007.08 - Buckman's Ski Shop is awarded the SIA SnowSports Retailer of the Year award for the Mid-Atlantic region
2008.09 - For the second year in row, Buckman's Ski and Snowboard Shop is awarded the SIA SnowSports Retailer of the Year (Mid-Atlantic region)
2009 - The West Lawn location moves to its new home in Reading
2009.10 - Buckman's Ski Shop wins a Gold Medal Award from Ski Magazine.
2010.11 - Buckman's Ski Shop is awarded the SIA SnowSports Retailer of the Year award for the Mid-Atlantic region as well as Skiing Business' Most Creative and Best In-Shop Merchandising: Accessories Awards
2011 - The former Nestors in Whitehall, Pa is purchased, adding a sixth store in PA. Buckman's Boardroom opens across from our ski shop in Montgomeryville.
2011.12 - Buckmans is awarded the TransWorld Business 2011 Mid Atlantic Retailer of the Year and the SIA SnowSports Retailer of the Year award for the Mid-Atlantic region
2012.13 - Buckmans is awarded the TransWorld Business 2012 Mid Atlantic Retailer of the Year
2013.14 - Buckman's Ski Shop is awarded the SIA SnowSports Retailer of the Year award for the Mid-Atlantic region for the 5th time in 7 years
May 2017 - Wick's Ski & Sport in Exton, Pa is purchased, adding our seventh retail location in PA.
Summer 2019 - Our Exton store is renovated and expanded taking it from 3000 sq ft to over 11,000 sq ft of ski and snowboard awesomeness!
1971-2021 - The 2021-2022 season marked a celebration of our 50th year in business! |
