Our staff here at Buckman’s all have one thing in common- their passion for skiing and snowboarding. Since we are a locally owned ski and snowboard shop, we pride ourselves on providing outstanding customer service with that personal touch. So, what better way to get personal than to introduce you to some of our staff members here at Buckman’s!
We had a chance to sit down with our vice president Brad Buckman and talk all things skiing. An avid skier since the age of 4, Brad works in the corporate offices and has many roles within the company including marketing for the ski and snowboard shops as well as being a part of our buying team.
Although he has been a full time employee for over 10 years, Brad actually started doing odd jobs when he was 12. This life-long experience has given him the opportunity to do just about every job possible at Buckman’s Inc! When asked what he likes most about working at Buckman’s, he was quick to reply “The fun family atmosphere!” As part of that family-atmosphere, we offer employee and friends trips each season to different resorts around the country and Europe. Brad’s favorite destination? “In Europe, hands down Zermatt Switzerland. The place is amazing! I have been there 6-7 times and would go back in a heartbeat! In the US, It would be Deer Valley – their conditions and grooming are next level!”
This season, Brad will be rocking apparel from Kjus, Arxteryx, Marmot, as well as a new brand called Capranea. For equipment, he will be using the Salomon X Pro 100 Ski Boots which features a fully custom moldable shell. To quote him exactly, “It’s the best fitting boot I have ever worn!”
This year’s ski of choice will be the Volkl Kendo! “This is a one ski quiver! It does everything well!!”
And of course, any day of skiing would not be complete without the proper eye and head protection. This year’s goggles will be the Oakely Airbrake and the Oakley Flight Deck with Prizm lenses. Brad will also be rocking the Giro Seam Helmet (“Don't go cheap on a helmet! It is protecting your head!”)
And of course we’ve all experienced what it is like to leave something at home accidentally. Brad’s number #1 recommendation for something small that is easy to forget? “Sunscreen and a lock. I always lock my ski equipment..... it just isn't worth taking the chance that someone won’t try and steal it!”
Skiing and snowboarding is our passion here at Buckman’s. Whether you are just starting out on the slopes or are an expert skier or snowboarder, our staff is always here to assist you.
